CineMec is a state-of-the-art Cineplex as well as a conference centre. CineMec is the frontrunner in Holland when it comes to digital cinema and 3D exhibition. In 2003 the company was the first in Holland to go digital and was the first to exhibit 3D films with great success. Films such as: 'Bolt', 'U2 3D', 'Dinosaurs: Giants of Patagonia', 'Fly me to the moon' and 'Bugs' created successful box-office returns. In 2007 CineMec received the public's award of Best Cinema in Holland, annually attracting an average of 450.000 visitors (and growing!). In addition CineMec is the leading Dutch independent exhibitor in terms of box-office revenue.
  

CineMec has no less than eight modern digital theatres and a highly appealing film program, literally something for everyone. We offer a constant choice of 20-25 different films whose genre range from family to art-house and from action blockbusters to romance and comedy. CineMec is also popular with audiences because of its original and unique programming, such as hosting major screen events like live Opera from the Metropolitan New York via satellite feeds in HD format on the big screen. In addition we frequently organise special events such as Ladies Nights, live jazz, music concerts and festive national film premieres with actors and directors.

CineMec opened its doors on the 27^th June 2009 to its latest feature CineMec ExpoTheater: the brand new leading digital giant screen cinema in Holland with state-of-the-art technology in 3D film exhibition. With a seating capacity for 1030 people, 160 m² of silver screen, two digital projectors and the latest in digital surround sound equipment, CineMec ExpoTheater is the leading digital 3D cinema in Holland. 
  

The demand for 3D films in Holland is increasing rapidly. The Dutch public is already showing its preference for 3D films over 2D.  Spread over a seven week period, CineMec registered 3836 visitors to the film 'Bolt' 2D as opposed to 5168 to the 3D version of the same film. This developing worldwide trend was confirmed during this year's International Cannes Film Festival, when the latest 3D animation film 'Up' from Pixar opened the festival to positive press reviews. 
  

3D system 

CineMec ExpoTheater will be using a new 3D system with passive 3D glasses. Each eye is served by its own projector. These projectors are equipped with a circular polarisation system. This implies that both the left and the right eye receive only the images provided by its respective projector.
